You Are Not Built To Handle It!!

I was going through my pictures from the “snowstorm” that fell a few weeks ago and ran across this picture. One of my momma’s sayings came to mind… “Everything that looks good to you, is not good for you.” There are things we are just not built to handle.

Although the snow was beautiful and it seldom falls in the south, the roads and the warnings of inclement weather reminded us that, as southerners, we are not built to handle it, no matter how beautiful it presents itself. I remember scanning the backyard and saw that the trees, the patio, and even the pool all were carried the weight of the snow as one would tolerate a brief nuisance. I then scanned over to the Palm Tree and saw how it was weighted down under the heaviness of what others viewed as beautiful. The branches were covered in the snow while the gravity of the snow pulled their beautiful branches to the ground. Simply put, Palm Trees are not built for Snow.

Isn’t this a simple lesson for us as well? Sometimes we take on things (people, positions, problems, etc.), that we are simply not built to manage. The situation may present itself as beautiful, profitable, exciting, but the weight of carrying something we are not built to carry will pull us down, cause us grief, despair, and unnecessary pressure physically, mentally, and spiritually.

The good news for the Palm Tree is that the ground was there to help support the branches until the “sun” come out and melted the snow. The Good News for us is that God sent his “Son” not only to support us but also to carry the load.

According to the Stress in America™ 2020 survey, we are facing a national mental health crisis that could yield serious health and social consequences for years to come. Will there be enough psychologist and meds to meet the of this type crisis? While this is not my line of expertise, I can tell you how I have managed the stressors that life have thrown my way. I learned a long time ago to cast my cares on God because He cares for me.

How do you do that? Contact me and I will pray with you and personally guide you to the One Who Stills the Waters.

Blessings My Friend and My Sister!!!

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
