Our God is Bigger

I decided to take a walk in the neighborhood and was immediately drawn to this tree because this fungal spore looked similar to illustrations I have seen of the Coronavirus. It engulfed the piece of branch that it was attached to.

But when I begin to step back from the tree, it didn’t look as huge as it did when I was up close. The further I stepped back the smaller it became. And when I was back far enough to see the entire tree, I could barely see its orange glow.

John 15:5 washed over me.. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit. Then Psalm 46:10 washed over me "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." As I looked at this huge tree its' roots are still firmly rooted in the ground. The tree is still healthy although the branch is infected.

Let us keep our eyes on the tree - God. Yes the branch needs tending, but the tree is still standing tall and Big and in Full Control. Keep your eyes on God as we go through this. His hand is still on the throttle. For me, it is just another way that God is assuring me, that we will get through this and He will be exalted from it. Look at your social media page, I see and hear God's Word more than ever. Last night I had a plethora of Bible studies from which to choose. Sunday, I will be able to pick which service I want to attend, even if it is on the west coast. God will be EXALTED.
