Don’t Get Distracted by the Cactus!

Sitting on my patio getting in my “Jesus ‘n me ” time when I started starring at this fake cactus decor. It reminded me of my struggles, my mistakes, and the pain I’ve had in my life. Then, with just a blink of the eye, I saw the beautiful, colorful, living flowers that were surrounding this tiny fake cactus. I saw the green trees in the background and heard the birds chirping. Isn’t that what we do in life sometimes?

We stare at the small obstacle before us, although, God has promised us that He makes all things work for our good.

Good tells us in John 16:33 that we will have trouble in this world. But He tells us to take heart because He has overcome the world. What does this mean to you and I exactly? It means that because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, we have gained the Victory, if we are indeed his children. Because of this Victory, we have peace – no matter the struggle. We have forgiveness – no matter the sin. We have love – no matter how unlovable we think we are. We have freedom – no matter the past transgressions. And most of all, If we ask him to come into our hearts, we have eternal life.

God's promises are a beautiful garden. Don’t get distracted by the cactus!
